With me have been a motley crew of anthropomorphised objects including:
a) my trusty computer, Zed.
b) photos of my sister and brother in law in drag (don't ask - needed for a montage)
c) three toy cars (long story)
and an invitation to visit a friend to see his new kitchen.
Meanwhile I remember that outside this blog there is another little world going on.
My street: three corner shops and three men who hang around the corner shop all day talking about Arsenal, Spurs and the fire in number 42. Two stone cats on the roof of a nearby shop, watching over us all like a couple of suburban sphinxes. Bit of a local curiousity. And one newly created controlled parking zone groaning under the weight of angry residents.
There's also five plum trees that bear the most delicious yellow fruit in summer, several wood pigeons that live in the tree in my neighbour's garden, and behind it all the beautiful New River, built in the 1700s to bring water to London. Now it's a little haven for dog walkers, coots and a good place to let off wishing balloons on New Year's Eve.
That's the scene. And that's it for now - I have a date to see a kitchen.
